Celebrate National Long Term Care Administrator’s Week

This past week marked Long Term Care Administrator’s Week. Since 1994, The American College of Health Care Administrators has sponsored this national observance each March. Long Term Care Administrator’s Week honors and celebrates the important role the administrator has in providing leadership for the delivery of quality, resident-centered care and a supportive work environment for staff.

Here are some suggestions on rewarding and recognizing your Administrator during Long Term Care Administrator’s Week or anytime during the year:

For individual recognition – flowers, candy or some other treat; lunch or dinner out; gift certificates such as to a spa so that they can be on the receiving end of care giving; tickets to area events.

For center recognition – a special meal, social or theme day at the center hosted by someone other than your administrator; celebrate with special activities that include residents, family, volunteers and staff.

For community recognition – email press releases to local newspapers (see links below for press releases); click here to search for newspapers in your area
