Bath Safety!

by | Jan 16, 2018

For the elderly, even the most common tasks can prove risky. The bath can go from an everyday mindless activity to a slippery porcelain fall risk. It’s important to ensure all the proper precautions are taken to keep seniors autonomous and safe in the bath. Here are a few tips to help make it a safer place.

* Non-slip bath mats: Keep a rubber mat at the bottom of the bath or shower. This will help keep them from slipping.

* Handrails: These can help with getting in and out of the tub as well as a handy place to hold onto while inside as well.

* Bath chair: Bath chairs can help by offering a place to rest and help prevent falling over while bathing.

* Bath lifts: Lifts are made to make entering and exiting the tub safer and easier for the residents and those who care for them.

Keep these easy tips in mind for your facility and keep everyone safe!
