New Year Wishes came into fashion after the Roman emperor Julius Caesar decided to celebrate the beginning of a fresh year on January 1st he celebrated the first New Year with a lot of bloodshed and war. Later the pagans began to mark the January 1 feast by drinking and rioting as symbolic of the time of no established law and order on earth. Soon after the New Year’s wishes and celebrations assumed a very different form. The King of England later redeclared January 1 as the New Year in the year 1066 which was again changed. It is only in 1582 that the New Year as we observe today was set finally on January 1.
In ancient Greece people would place a new born in a basket and parade the baby on the streets to herald a new beginning, fertility and rebirth. Black-eyed peas were and still are consumed in different parts of the United States as symbolic of a new start.
The main significance of New Year wishes is that you greet and remember people important to you. It is that time of the year when we take time out of our busy schedules to remember everyone who did us a good turn or friends, clients and close relatives.
In this time of holiday celebration, please take a moment and reflect on the important things in life. May you enjoy a safe and happy holiday season, shared with family, friends and loved life. May you enjoy a safe and happy holiday season, shared with family, friends and loved ones.
